About the course

Puppies must be under 16 weeks when joining up.

Cost: $175

Four subsequent weeks – including a $10 voucher to use here and a free puppy visit/dog walk with Loose Lead Pets.

Times: 4x 45 minute subsequent weeks.  Sunday mornings, Tuesday or Thursday nights.

Our course is held at our local vet, Hobsons bay Veterinary Clinic – 318 Melbourne Road, Newport.

Designed for both new and outdated dog owners, families with kids or simply for a refresher on all things puppy. The four weeks is jam-packed with information from your experienced trainer.  

Weeks and times are set and will mean you need to attend subsequent weeks.

Your class will be to help you refine your handling skills and let your puppy socialise in a safe environment while the rest of the family watches on from home.

What you will learn about…

You will learn how to fit them into your life with SUCCESS. 

We only endorse positive methods as research has proven these techniques to be humane and highly effective.  

We will cover all things puppy, what to expect, how to train your puppy and socialise with covid restrictions in place.  You will be sent a video each week prior to class for your whole family to watch and practice. 

·         Mat/calm

·         Toilet training

·         Biting/mouthing

·         Understanding canine body language

·         Bridge or clicker training

·         Jumping up

·         Training – sit, drop, stay, wait, recall, leave it and a few tricks

·         How to prevent problem behaviours

·         Handling & desensitisation (especially important in ISO)

·         Socialisation the ins & outs on developing a well adjusted dog

·         Focus, responding to their name

·         Lead walking, go round, harnesses/leads etc

·         Environmental enrichment & suitable treats

Conditions of entry to class

Only one person per puppy is to attend, no exceptions.  This is to ensure a smooth, consistent handling of your puppy, the rest of your family can zoom in and watch then also practice at home.

Masks must be worn when required – If you feel unwell you can attend via our zoom link. 

You must maintain 1.5m from others and follow instructions from your trainer.

Should covid restrictions come into place, your classes will be moved to an online Zoom session.

There are no catch up classes or refunds should you be unable to make the course however you can join zoom class online with the relevant week.
